According to the publication, Apple last year hired more than two hundred specialists-biochemists and consultants who participate in the development of non-invasive sensors to determine the level of glucose. New sensors will be integrated into the Apple Watch and will allow a smart watch to continuously monitor the blood sugar level, which is especially important for patients with diabetes.
Apple plans to realize the possibility of tracking blood sugar levels, and without connecting any additional devices to hours. Another direction is interchangeable “smart” bracelets that can add various functions to the clock, without complicating the device and without increasing its cost base.
It is likely that the function of tracking blood sugar levels will be implemented through this smart bracelet. In addition, bracelets can add a camera and an extra battery.
In April, CNBC reported that Apple more than five years working on the creation of an optical sensor, able to measure blood sugar without breaking the skin.
A number of other companies engaged in research in the natural Sciences, have attempted to develop a similar device, but to do this failed.
