Apple has been granted a permit for testing driverless cars in California

Apple has been granted a permit to test vehicles with Autonomous control systems in California. Reported by Business Insider, citing the Department of state for registration of vehicles.

First information about Apple self-driving car appeared in 2015, but until December of last year, the electronics manufacturer never officially confirmed nor denied this information.

It was reported that “Apple” manufacturer is exploring ways of recharging electric cars, opened in Berlin the “secret laboratory” for the design of their first model and even hired many experts from the automotive industry, including the former Vice-President of Tesla, and former chief engineer of Aston Martin’s Chris Porritt.

In the fall of 2016 became aware of the failure of the Corporation from the development of the car and the dissolution of several hundred employees from thousands who worked on the project. It is assumed now that Apple will switch from developing their own vehicle for the creation of the autopilot system, which can be sold to automakers.

At the end of 2016 Apple sent a letter to National security controls on the highways of the USA, noting that invests heavily in the study of machine learning and interested in the possibilities of automated systems in transport.

Thus, Apple has officially confirmed work on autopilot. Apple encouraged developers of autopilot systems to combine efforts and share experiences, and also said that she is investing “heavily in the study of mechanics and automation systems”.
