Notorious analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities, who has repeatedly made accurate predictions on sales of Apple products, spoke about the new flagship smartphone Samsung. According to experts, the Galaxy S8 has no chance to beat the sales of its predecessor, the Galaxy S7 because of the lack of attractive features and the upcoming release of the iPhone 8.
Samsung already confirmed that the new generation of smartphones of the Galaxy series will be presented on March 29. The announcement will take place simultaneously in two cities, new York and London. It is expected that the device will come in two versions: display-Super AMOLED resolution 2560×1440 pixels and a diagonal of 5.7 and 6.2 inches.
Galaxy S8 will be based on the processor Exynos or Qualcomm Snapdragon 8895 835 depending on the sales region and will receive 4/6 GB of RAM and 64 GB flash storage, expandable through microSD memory cards. Galaxy S8 will complement a battery of 3250 mAh, Galaxy S8+ — 3750 mAh. To work devices are at the latest version of Android — 7.1.1 Nougat
According to estimates of Ming-Chi Kuo, shipments of Galaxy and Galaxy S8 S8+ in 2017 will be from 40 to 45 million, significantly less than the 52 million, which could boast of a Galaxy S7.
“We are quite restrained in the estimates of the demand for Galaxy S8 and believe that its contribution to the supply chain will be limited, wrote Kuo. – Instead we recommend you to concentrate on supplying other manufacturers ‘ devices, in particular OLED new model iPhone.”
Ming-Chi Kuo believes that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will not be as popular as the other members of the family of South Korean smartphones. The reason is the lack of attractive features, high price and the upcoming anniversary release of the Apple smartphone.
