A series of covers for TIME magazine took on the iPhone

TIME magazine launched a series of special editions dedicated to famous women, all of the covers for which were filmed on an iPhone.

 

12 publications, entitled “First: Women who are changing the world” is dedicated to the famous women of our time, like Hillary Clinton, Oprah Winfrey, Melinda gates, Sylvia Era, Alice waters and others. In total, the project took off 46 participants.

Prepared a series of Brazilian photographer Louise Doerr (Luisa Dörr). Throughout the year she filmed participating in the project using only the iPhone. For the preparation of materials and Time covers Doerr used iPhone 5, iPhone 6, iPhone 6s and iPhone 7.

 

In an interview with TIME for Louise Doerr told why he preferred the iPhone’s camera. According to the photographer, the iPhone provides high quality pictures regardless of time, place and weather conditions of the shoot. Moreover, the smartphone seems to be participating in the shooting of “less Intrusive” than a bulky professional camera.

“I like the simplicity with which you created these pictures. But the best part for me, as a photographer, is that I feel light and free. It’s almost as if I were taking pictures with their hand. No noise, no extra gadgets, devices and other things — just me and the subject of the shooting, says Doerr. I tried to imagine these portraits as the picture. I am fascinated by the combination of the landscapes and the faces of women, the life and time imprinted on them. I’m not talking about physical traits, and more — about the spiritual footprints”.
