7-inch MacBook on Windows 10 and Ubuntu in a few hours raised $200,000 on Indiegogo

Manufacturer of electronics from China in a few hours raised money for the release of 7 inch laptop Pocket GPD. A device with a screen diagonal of tablet computer similar in design to the mini version of the MacBook, but it works on Windows 10 or Ubuntu 16 on the user’s choice.

The device can be attributed to the category of netbooks. The gadget is equipped with 7-inch display with a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels, and the size will be even less on many modern tablets.

The laptop is based on a 4-core processor Intel Atom X7-Z8700 with a clock frequency of 1.6 GHz, 4 GB RAM and 128GB SSD. The battery capacity of 7000 mAh, which should be enough for 12 hours of battery life. The weight of the laptop will not exceed 480 grams.

The laptop will run on desktop operating systems to Windows 10 or Ubuntu 16. It will be able to connect peripherals via USB 3.0, USB C, micro HDMI.

Surprisingly, the required amount to start commercial production collected within a few hours. Instead of the required $200 000 developers have already received nearly $350 000. The supply of “mini-MacBook” will begin in a few months.

The cost of one laptop to the financiers on Indiegogo was $400, while in retail it will sell for $600.
