40% of Russians began to save on gadgets in crisis

Research service IT company Intech figured out how changed the purchasing habits of Russians against the new gadgets in connection with the onset of the crisis. The results of the research shared resource of The Village.

It is reported that practically nobody was buying used or refurbished equipment, but for 75.4% of respondents were more likely to wait for the discounts to buy another gadget. Another 12.4 percent revised their preferences and now focus on cheaper brands, and only 5.6% have started to buy second-hand electronics.

Simultaneously less likely to buy gadgets ready only 14.1% of respondents. For example, a quarter of Russians annually buys a new smartphone, and 43.7 per cent do it every two years. The main reason for the shift apparatus (42,7%) is failure of the device. On the second place on popularity — the desire to obtain pleasure from shopping (30.9 per cent).

“Buy less gadgets respondents: 85,9% indulge in smart devices and buy gadgets with the same frequency as before the crisis. However, the strategy of shopping has changed — the vast majority of buyers often wait discounts on interesting devices,” the study said.

It is noteworthy that 72.1% of respondents still focus only on flagships from Apple and Samsung. Fluctuations of exchange rates and prices in rubles have not had a significant impact on people’s desire to have devices prestigious brands, the researchers note.
